From Blanchard Spring.....

Local TV Repairman, Max Goldman married restaurant owner Maria Ragetti today in a lake side ceremony.  Max and best man John Gustafson made the news during the summer with their catch of a record setting catfish.  The bride wore a beautiful dress and the reception was excellent.

Black Rock.....

Dr. Phil McAvity DDS is divorcing his wife of six months sighting irreconcilable differences.  Apparently the  good doctor and his manicurist wife have been fighting tooth and nail the entire time and both decided that enough was enough.

Bitter Creek.....

Layoffs at area lumber companies have left many out of work.  In most of the area lumber cutting has been slowing down and the various companies have been cutting back on staff.

The Bitter Creek Lumber Company is said to be increasing operations.  Company representative, Ben Chopin said, "We haven't let anybody go in some time.  In fact, we are expanding operations into the valley.  The last person we let go was a lumberjack but it wasn't because business was bad.  He just couldn't hack it so we gave him the axe."

 

Blanchard Springs.....

Prof. Bradley was named the new Dean of Trade Education at Blanchard Spring College.  Prof. Bradley has taught classes on building construction since the breakup of the WPA.  His most recent class, "Brick Laying 101: Trowel and Error" has been a favorite among students.
