The summer months saw the start of a new set of clinics for the LSR.
I'm teaching clinics each month on scratchbuilding.
Myself and another member are each building the same mill. His is in
styrene while I'm working in wood. It's really turning out well. I'm
trying several new things, or new to me at least, on this project. For
example, I mounted the window glass into the frames with Future floor wax.
That is the greatest. I also started weathering with Prismacolor colored
pencils. That is also VERY cool. Click on the link above and check
out the progress. I will be adding to it until the project is done.
My wife started a new job working nights during the weekend. I
really thought that my modeling time was gone. Boy was I wrong. I've
gotten more done in the last few weeks than I have in months. Besides the
mill for the clinic, I'm working in the train room again. The mainline is
in over to Bitter Creek and part of the way across to Black Rock. By
Christmas I should have the wiring in place, the rails painted, and the track
ballasted. I have posted a few pictures on the El
Lobo Division page. More to follow...I hope to have my MMR wrapped up
before Christmas.
